Korea makes a strong come back on the second day
The second day of the 5th Asian Junior Championship saw Korean male team to make a strong come back and start its push to repeat their championship.
Korea won 3 Gold medals in Fly, Welter and Light heavy weight division to add to its 2 Silvers and a Bronze they had collected on the first day and take a big jump to the first place in the team standings with 53 points.
Thailand that had started very strong on the first day grabbed one more Gold and two Bronze medals on the second day and increases its tally to 3 Gold with 2 Bronze and stand in the second place in the team standings with 43 points.
I.R. of Iran that was hoping to make a strong rush for its 1st junior championships is currently standing in the third place with 42 points with 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.
Desipe not being out of the running for the first place, Iran , now, has a very hard road ahead and seems like a long shop to be able to keep the championship at home but it still has a shoulder to shoulder race for the second place with Thailand, the big surprise of the 5th Asian Junior Taekwondo Championship.
China and Chinese Taipei won a Silver and a Bronze each as Afghanistan and Jordan were also able to take 1 Bronze each.
The female competition ended today with Korea taking the Championship home by winning 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals and stand in the first place with 67 points.
The Chinese female team came in second with 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals and 49 points.
I.R. of Iran stood in the third place for the first time in Asian Junior Championships with 2 Gold and 2 Bronze medals and 37 points.
Thailand also had 37 points in the team standings but Iran on virtue of winning more Gold medals was able to beat Thailand out of the third place.
Tomorrow, November 23 will be last day of this Championship.
