RE: DOPING CONTROL GUIDE (15th ASIAN GAMES)

Dear Sirs/Madams:

The 15th Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar, is just round the corner, and I believe that you are busy preparing for the grand event. I wish you all well in your preparations.

In the past two years, the WTF has heightened its awareness on anti-doping efforts and learnt from the best international practices. Eradicating doping from our sport is one of primary aims for the coming years; it is paramount for all taekwondo competitions at DOHA 2006 to be drug-free.

In this regard, please find attached a comprehensive doping control guide for DOHA 2006. Athletes who require an application for Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) are strongly advised to submit them to the relevant authorities stated in the guide as soon as possible, with a copy to the WTF. Athletes who fail to apply for TUE and are found to have violated the WADA or WTF anti-doping rules will be subject to sanctions.

In addition, we would require all athletes and/or the pertinent member national association to submit the whereabouts information of the participating athletes to the WTF by October 31, 2006. We kindly request each national association concerned to copy us the entry by name of the taekwondo athlete containing their whereabouts information.

Once again, I thank all members for your cooperation and attention to the above. We, at the Secretariat, look forward to receiving your information soon.

Sincerely yours,

Dong-Hoo Moon
Secretary General
