Speaking of WTF, the taekwondo competition was very successfully ending at the Beijing Olympics. In spite of that the audiences were fairly interested with taekwondo at the Beijing Olympics, we realized that there insufficient things in many respects to fulfill their expectations.
In order to find our weaknesses and to improve them, ATU is planning to hold a seminar related to the need of revision of the game regulation and the safety matters for the protection of athletes; for example, such as application of a graded scoring system will also be discussed. The seminar will be held during the 1st West Asian Taekwondo Championships (November 7 – 9, 2008) in Iran.
We will select and notify the speakers when all member nations send the name lists of people who want to speak on this topic and the gist of their presentations to the ATU office by October 15th, 2008.
President of ATU, Dr. Dai Soon Lee kindly asks Vice- President and Executive Council Members of ATU to attend this seminar. We look forward to the active participation from the associations as well.
The detailed agenda and a list of people invited will be informed after the discussion with O/C of the 1st West Asian Taekwondo Championships in Iran.
